For some, stripping down can be a sort of a challenge, for it can lead to anxiety, fear or both. For others the naked body is seen as some of art that shows the sexualized nature of the human body.
For Victoria’s Secret Angel Sara Sampaio, posing nude is some form of empowerment that should be celebrated, no matter the nature of one’s physique. “At the end of the day, we came into the world naked, and that’s the way we’re going to go,” she said.
Sara, who credits her modelling career as the source of her high self-esteem, further narrates: “I used to not have any confidence when it came to my body—I developed very late in terms of being a girl!”
Sarah, who was speaking in a recent interview was asked the following question: “Now that you’re officially a Victoria’s Secret Angel, you obviously spend a lot of time in bikinis, lingerie, or less. What steps do you take to prepare your skin from head to toe prior to a shoot?” And this was her reply: “In terms of skin, I try to stay very hydrated. I exfoliate once a week or once every two weeks. I’m very lazy when it comes to my skin…For the past few months, instead of putting on a cream, I’ve started using oil from a brand called Ling and it’s done wonders. It’s very easy to put on, but it doesn’t feel [greasy]. I drink a lot of water, too. On my face, I just wash it every night and use a serum. I’ve gone through a few, but for a while I’ve used the new Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Sérum and a moisturizer from Chanel. I use a dry oil from Dr. Sebagh, Rose de Vie Serum, that I found by accident—it gives your skin a glow. And I try not to eat candy! That’s the hardest thing for me to do because it does give me a lot of spots. I have to cut it out, but sometimes I can’t resist.”
She was further asked: “Which candy is your vice?” And she replied, “Skittles. I love them.”
