“Hi I am dating a shorter guy”

Happy Friday!

Today we are going back to #AskLucia and first I would like to apologize to all those who have send questions which I haven’t been able to address yet. Kindly bear with me, I’m working on that. So to start us off, here is a question from one of my readers…

Before we discuss the fashion tips; I should mention that, in my opinion height shouldn’t be an issue in the first place. I would like to think that before you started dating you both knew your height differences that means you love each other just the way you are. So whereas you might feel the need to wear flats always you shouldn’t be obligated, as long as you are both okay with it. Look at Kevin Hart and his girlfriend Eniko Parish (he is 5 4′ and she is 5 7′ ) yet she still rocks her heels and if you ask me they look amazing

Anyhow if you would like downplay your height, here are some fashion tips:

Instead of vertical stripes choose horizontal ones. Vertical stripes will make you appear even taller

Try full dresses and skirts, they tend to draw the eye horizontally

Avoid monochromatic outfits by creating a contrast between your tops and bottoms i.e make sure your top and bottoms are different colors or you could go with a printed bottom for example

Shoes with straps over the ankle will help in making your legs appear shorter

For your hair try styles which add volume to the sides

Lastly, be confident! Confidence is the best tip you can have, don’t slouch so as to appear shorter instead stand tall and be proud of your height.

Hope this helps and all the best!

What is your view on this, what advice can you give this reader?

Little Black Dress

Today I am going for a little black dress with a pop of color but first I would like to venture in to unfamiliar grounds, the first being football or rather soccer. The only time I watch football is during World Cup, besides that I know several names of clubs and that’s where it ends. So when Royal Kenya invited me to try their new sports betting platform I didn’t know where to start. Just incase you are wondering who is Royal Kenya, Royal Kenya is a new form of online/mobile entertainment, a legal, safe and trustworthy platform licensed by the Betting Control Licence Board. Royal Kenya is convenient and pratical (mobile playing and also offer MPESA as method of deposit & withdrawals). Royal Kenya offers both online casino AND sports betting.

For those who are not fans of football but would still like to enjoy other games, Royal Kenya has over 500 games on offer, a section which is added to regularly, with new titles added to the casino on a monthly basis. These include popular slots, video poker, table games, progressives and Live Dealer. When new players register a Real Money account at Royal Kenya, they are automatically eligible for the casinos New Player Welcome Bonus of a 100% deposit match, up to KSh10,000 or $100 free. This amount will instantly be credited to the player’s account once they have made their first deposit. Additionally, the casino makes use of a loyalty Rewards programme, where players earn points for each bet they place, and these points can subsequently be exchanged for cash once the player has earned enough points. Once a player registers a Real Money account, they are credited with 2,500 Rewards points.

Now going back to sports betting, how about you guys help me out by telling me which teams I should be keen on.

If you are a fan of football have a look at royal kenya and bet your fav team. Deposits and withdrawals can be made via Mpesa

Moving on to books, I have finally finished the infamous 50 shades of Grey, the first one and the second one. Oh boy what can I say? I think I will leave my review for later. In the mean time what books are you reading this week?

Fashion on Budget - Lucia Musua

Fashion on Budget

Today I would like to talk about ‘Fashion on Budget"; you have probably heard the saying ‘fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it’. The other day I was having a drink with some friends and my blog became a subject of discussion, where one of the ladies wanted to know if I shop second hand clothing at all, the other one went ahead and challenged me if have ever been to ‘Toi market’. That conversation got me wondering,’ is that what my readers think?’ But of course I do

So today I would like to introduce to you how I do it! I will be very honest with you, I do visit flea markets (Toi, Gikomba, Ngara) etc but not as much e.g. for the period have been in Nairobi have visited each once but that doesn’t mean I don’t get pieces from there. Over time I have established contacts who understand what I like, so once they get something which they think will work for me, they send me photos via whatsapp and then we make arrangements for delivery. If I also like something and it doesn’t seem to be in shops or its too costly I send them photos of the item and they do the search

Say for example; I still get my ripped/distressed jeans from Kongowea market Mombasa, all I do is send ‘Saeed’ photos of the kind of jeans I want and he will be sure to deliver.

Here are some of my contacts:

Jeans – Saeed Kongowea Market (+254 702 335641)

Mwikali – Official skirts (+254 722 223365 Nairobi)

Fashionable pieces – Serinda Fashions (+254 728 224901)

Perhaps you could also share yours?

The cost of today’s outfit: Top Ksh 200, Skirt Ksh 400 (Total Cost Ksh 600 Courtesy of Serinda Fashions ) It’s not what you buy it’s what you do it with it

PS: To recreate this look, you can also get a royal blue midi skirt here or here (click the links to be redirected) and a crop top here
