Today, we’re going to narrow our focus to the beauty of the Traditional Ukrainian Costume.
Even though, Ukraine has been a major topic in international discussions (not for the best of reasons though); It has succeeded in extending its reach beyond the cover pages of newspapers to our highly fashionable closets and whether you’ve noticed or not; if you’re a typical definition of a fashionista, there’s no way you a Ukrainian related costume won’t be in your wardrobe. Except of course you’re lying to yourself.
Does your mind rapidly race to that Groovy Boho embroidered peasant blouse?
Well guess what, Alexa Chung was spotted wearing an embroidered peasant shirt inspired from the Eastern European region with a pair of denim cut-offs. We also observed Slavic red patterns on the runway at Valentino spring 2015 couture (this was coupled with fine models wearing historical and traditional braid crowns).
The Ukranian traditional costume is not exactly new to the fashion industry but knowingly and unknowingly, it has deeply entered fashion and these days, it’s fast becoming a major spotlight in Ukraine and across the world. What we find even more amazing is the fact that, the traditional Ukrainian costumes are now hailing from the motherland itself.
Check out more styles that can inspire your spring wardrobe 😉
More and more people are tapping into the frenzy associated with this popular Ukranian style. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. [Vogue]
