Nigerian Elections 2015 by SaharaReporters
Against the backdrop of threats from terrorist group Boko Haram, Nigeria holds elections today, Saturday, March 28th, after a six-week postponement due to security concerns. The contest pits President Goodluck Jonathan against Muhammadu Buhari, who presided over a military dictatorship in the early 1980s and lost against the incumbent in 2011. The participation of the electorate is massive, the polling stations are jam-packed, and the electoral process is still on-going. Nigeria and the Nigerians are demonstrating to the world that no amount of intimidation will dissuade them from holding a peaceful election.
