If you’ve been following the story between Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally then this would interest you- This Wednesday, a judge in Pennsylvania is set to decide on if Sherri Shepherd is the legal mother of a 7-month old baby that was conceived through surrogate last August.
When Sally’s lawyer (Tiffany Palmer) was probed concerning this issue, she spoke to PEOPLE and told them that “We believe it’s in the child’s best interest to have two legal parents, and those parents should be the people who gave rise to his birth.
The 47 year old former The View host has had series of quarrels with her husband over accepting financial responsibility for the little child- Lama Sally Jr. This has been happening since the Los Angeles-based scriptwriter claimed that they had both agreed to engage in surrogacy using his sperm and a donor’s egg after it was revealed that Shepherd’s eggs weren’t usable.
With more determination than ever to have a child, Sally stated that she was going to love the child like hers and willingly signed all the necessary documents except for the birth order which stated who the intended parents are. After the birth of the child, Sally has taken it upon herself to care for the baby and now the judge has to decide on whether the gestational carrier or the anonymous egg donor is the legal mother.
Sally lawyer went on to say that “We are confident that once we’ve made available all the witness testimony and legal arguments to the court, the court will make a decision that is in the best interest of the child”.
