Everybody has that bad day when they look down upon themselves and feel very inadequate. Perhaps you’re having that kind of day today or feeling even worse about how tomorrow might look like, fear no more!


Today, we cooked up some ways by which you can boost you self esteem and grow your self confidence.


  • Look at the situation from a different angle: It doesn’t matter what you’re going through or how badly you messed. Try your best to be optimistic and look at the situation from a different angle. Don’t see the glass as half empty rather consider it as half full; that way, you begin to see the good in even the worst of situations.

  • Say something nice about yourself: In the midst of the hurtful word being spoken against you either by friends or foes; counter it with “beautiful and pleasant” words about yourself. Keep saying nice things that will knock out the evil voices in your head. Write down your talents, skills and all the things that make you very unique and wonderful.

  • Relax: Sometimes we lose our confidence or relapse into low self esteem because of stress, frustration and things not going as planned. In such instance, we need to withdraw from the situation and relax. Stop trying to fix that mess with an unsettled mind! Call a friend or counselor and talk to them in a relaxed mood. When we relax, we give our-selves the opportunity to grow our self-confidence.

  • Adjust your posture: Your posture has a lot to do with your self-confidence and esteem. Sit up straight and when you’re walking, ensure your head is tilted up with confidence and admiration for the great person you’ve become. Your posture send out a lot about you t others.

  • Exercise: Remember the advise we got from Elle (in our Legally blonde lessons) on the importance of exercise. Exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy. This also created a platform for you to develop self confidence and build your self esteem. You feel better and happier when your take care of your body by exercising it.

  • Learn a new skill: Don’t be satisfied with where you are, strive to be better and do better. Don’t settle for what you have achieve but work to learn more and do more. This distracts you from the voice of low self esteem and gives you the confidence you need to achieve new goals and targets.

  • Keep visual reminders of the things that make you happy: Always constantly have a visual reminder of the things that always put a smile on your face. It could be a board on pin interest or a cardboard with quotes that inspire you and encourage you to be more confident in who you are.
