Tackling Relationship Problems – Issues Common To Most Relationships
Relationships won’t always be rosy and the truth is that it takes a lot of patience and hard-work to sustain a successful relationship. Today we’ll be looking at how to tackle issues common to most relationships. These issues come in form of quarrels or disagreement between both partners, interference from third parties, communication barriers, etc.
Today, we’ll be narrowing our focus to communication barriers. Communication barriers are not necessarily built from long distance or separation of two partners; it could be as a result of personal challenges or lack of excitement in a relationship.
HOW TO LEVEL COMMUNICATION BARRIERS:
Stop thinking of what to say: You’re not trying to convince that guy/ girl to fall in love with you; they already have, so stop trying to figure out what you will say when next you meet them. Be spontaneous not predictable. When a relationship becomes like a cycle where your partner knows every line of conversation then it’s time to stop planning your speeches.
Know your partner: The problem with so many relationships is that individuals refuse to take time to know the kind of person they are dating. This is very important as the more you know your partner, the better you relate with them. You know when he wants to talk and when she doesn’t feel like talking, you know when she wants to hold your hand and when he just wants to take a silent walk. Know your partner; it’s the easiest way to tackle a communication barrier.
Give room for “healthy silence”: “Healthy silence” simply refers to a level of silence that is desirable for the growth of any relationship. Talking every time, chatting round the clock doesn’t give room for a relationship to grow. Sometimes, all you need to do is quietly rest in each other’s arms and appreciate the love that God has given you.
Yours truly,
Tope.
