LET GO - It May Be Extremely Difficult But Yes You Can - Mustered Lady Relationship | MusteredLady.com

Let Go – It’s not easy but yes! You can

I remember when he left me, I was broken, sad and devastated. There were no apologies, no text message, no calls, no conversations just a note pinned to my door stating “Our relationship is over”. Thoughts of the beautiful memories we shared flooded my memory and bitter tears followed. I cried my eyes out and hurt for several days wishing and praying that he would change his mind. I found it extremely difficult to “Let go”.

Let Go - It’s not easy but yes! You can Let Go – It’s not easy but yes! You can

My experience, knowledge and observation over time has taught me that “letting go” is not easy but then it’s not impossible. Today, I’m going to be sharing with you on how to move on from a bitter and broken relationship; how to pick up your pieces and start over again.

Stop crying: It’s okay to shed a few tears and hurt for a little while over the end of your cherished relationship but it’s not okay to mourn forever. It’s not okay to give your “ex” absolute control over your emotional state; it’s not okay to cry until you fall sick; it’s not okay to let your life remain on stand-still just because someone who isn’t part of it left. You need to realize that until you stop crying, you will never see the vision ahead clearly.

Trash old memories and create new ones: To let go is to forgive the one who hurt you and completely forget how much they hurt you. It’s not easy but yes! You can. I did it and so can you. All you need to do is shift your focus from the past to the future by letting go of the past moments you cherished with your “ex”. Don’t think too much about how you’ll miss those great times, don’t wish for them all over again, don’t try to re-establish contact with him and work things out. Trash the old memories and create premises for new ones to be formed by developing yourself, hanging out with friends and meeting new people who will add value to your life.

Ask God for strength: No matter how hard you try, you can never move on successfully just by yourself, you need to talk to someone who knows you better than yourself and that “someone” is God…you need to talk to God and ask for the strength to forgive the one who hurt you so badly; ask Him for the strength to move on and for the strength to take the next step.

Yours truly,

Tope.
