Enjoying Your Relationship -The Scenario

I had been dating Bryan for three (3) years and everything felt very beautiful. We did almost everything together, never ran out of what to talk about and always had the same opinion about issues.

I was so sure that Bryan was the bone of my bones until the day I met Alex. Alex was one of those guys you couldn’t pass without turning back to look at him. He was eye-catching, breath-taking and very attractive. Initially, I discarded the thought of having anything to do with Alex due to my relationship with Bryan.

However, as I continued to relate with Alex, it was becoming more obvious that Alex was someone I always wanted to be around. I looked forward to his calls and anticipated the one-hour conversation we had every-day. I knew I was falling for Alex and I just couldn’t help it. In no time, I found myself comparing Bryan and Alex.

Honestly, I was completely confused! It was like I wanted both guys but then I knew that I could only settle with one of them.

Enjoying Your Relationship – The Antidote

If the above feels like you, then the following might come in very handy:

Be sure of your relationship: Relationships are not games that you start and stop whenever you feel like. They’re an investment of time, money, emotions and so many other valuable assets. It therefore becomes wise to be very sure of your relationship. Be more than convinced that you want to be in “the relationship” and that there’s a bright future for the relationship. When you’re sure of a relationship, it becomes very difficult to be distracted by other side attractions.

Be Genuinely Committed: Assurance often guarantees commitment in a relationship. When you’re genuinely committed to a relationship, you find yourself dismissing other things that won’t help the relationship. Don’t be in a relationship that you’re indifferent about, be in a relations that you’re committed to.

Let God direct you: The most important thing in every relationship is to be guarded by the Spirit of God. If you try leading yourself, you’ll only keep making the same mistake. It’s about time you hand over control to someone who knows the road better than you do.

Yours truly,

Tope.
