Kente is one of the most popular fabrics used in fashion design in Africa today. Kente can be easily described as a strip-woven fabric , and it is mostly known as the design of Ghana and Togo in West Africa.
In recent times it has become so popular and the fabric is used to make almost anything, both here in Africa as well as outside Africa.
One of my favorite things about kente is its colorful designs and the fact that it can be used to design almost any fashion piece, from handbags, shoes, jackets, gowns, shirts, shorts, skirts, jewelries and so many other things, and when they are worn it always makes a ground return, leaving you looking totally chic.
I love it because it has a way of making you look really classy and it always stands out no matter the form which is worn. Kente is also very easy to accessorize when worn and can be complemented with almost anything, as long as you are bold enough to rock it.
Kente has definitely carved out a life of its own and is been added to almost anything these days and has made more significant gain in the world of haute couture and it remains the choice fabric for most Africans.
