Nigerian drug convict Daniel Enemuo, 5 others executed in Indonesia

Nigerian drug convict Daniel Enemuo and 5 other foreigners from Vietnam, Malawi, Brazil and Netherlands were executed in the early hours of this morning Sunday January 18th for drug offences.

The convicts, who were killed by firing squad, are the first people executed under new President Joko Widodo,who took office in October 2014. He signed off on the executions last month..

Brazil and the Netherlands have since recalled their ambassadors from Indonesia after the country defied their pleas and executed two of their citizens AFP reports. Brazilian Marco Archer Cardoso Moreira, was convicted of smuggling cocaine into Indonesia in 2004. Dutchman Ang Kiem Soei was arrested 8 years ago. Daniel Enemuo, 38, was also arrested in 2004

The others executed in the Boyolali district in central Java were Namaona Denis from Malawi; Indonesian woman, Rani Andriani, and Vietnamese woman Tran Thi Bich Hanh.

The Iro and Buba – A Versatile Fashion Duo

If there is one fashion item, the gets most women smiling and in good spirits when they rock them, it is the “Iro and Buba”.

“Iro and Buba” is a wrapper or pagne, which is worn commonly in West Africa.  “Iro and Buba” is a fashion piece, that originated from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, and has now spread abroad, worldwide. It can be made from different fabrics such as silk, chiffon, satin and jacquard. It can also be rocked in floral mix-and-matches print and patern, adding a little twist to the blouse. The combination of the quality of the fabric and the cut of an “Iro and Buba“, will determine whether it will be used for a formal or an informal occasion. By the way, “Iro and Buba”, is a blouse-and-wrapper combination, Iro being the wrapper, and the Buba, the accompanying blouse.

These days, most of the “Iro and Buba“s , are used by young ladies and women to attend festive occasions like weddings, engagement ceremonies, birthday parties etc.

“Iro and Buba” is essentially, a 2-piece garment, however, a third piece called, Gele, can be added as occasion demands, and especially when one doesn’t want to leave “no stone un-turned”. The fact is, when you rock your “Iro and Buba” well, and you rock it in style, you become a source of attraction, and guys can’t help it but turn their heads, in your direction.

One of the famous styles of the “Iro and Buba” which I love is the tulip style or knotted wrapper,  with the cape blouse or a fitting Buba. This “Iro and Buba” style is versatile, chic, hip and comfy and it can be paired with a beautiful necklace and a pair of high heeled sandals to give a modern twist for a wedding.
