Everyone loves Paris and it’s probably the current base for French-girl cool but asides this; it’s fabulous places like Cannes, St. Tropes and Nice that have been continuous destinations for bombshell beauty.
According to Makeup artist- Peter Philips during a backstage interview at Christian Dior’s resort show; It’s a long time legend that began with Brigitte Bardot who arrived at Côte d’Azur because it happened to be the only place in the world were she felt free.
From the runway inside Pierre Cardin’s iconic bubble house, you could see amazing views of the French Rivera that would inspire you beyond your imagination. From this, we aren’t surprised that Philips came up with the myth of storied landscape to match the seemingly curvilinear collection from Raf Simmon. Even more was how the skin of models had a luminous glow by reason of the fact that they were exposed carefully to the first ray of summer.
This effect was also achieved using Dior’s Star Fluid foundation as a base and then it was gently topped with a Skinflash highlighter by the nose, temple and cheeks. The look was further high-lightened with a rosy pick cream blush and a little eye makeup, one stroke of liner along the lower lid and a bit of Diorshow mascara at the root. According to Philips of the trompe l’oeil effect, “it’s similar to applying conditioner to one’s hair”. “It enhances the lashes without making them shiny.”
A nice dose of Dior’s Lip Maximizer was applied on the models before they entered the runway with a dramatic pout that had vacationing French movie star all over it. [Vogue]
