Nicole Kidman and Vogue’s Hamish Bowles

This week, there was a serious buzz at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and this was by reason of the thousands of people who gathered to view Anna Wintour’s Costume Center’s latest exhibit, “China: Through the Looking Glass.”It was absolutely beautiful.
Later on, Wendy Murdoch and Anna Wintour had a discussion on costume in film between actress Nicole Kidman and Hamish Bowles from Vogue who were giving a befitting introduction by the museum curator- Andrew Bolton. During the exhibition, there was a fine-show of smattering looks from movies by Wong Kar Wai as well as a host of others. Also, Kidman came up with her knowledge of screen ensembles that spread over her career which involved her time on set with Baz Luhrmann especially as they filmed Moulin Rouge! and down to the role she played in Werner Herzog’s- Queen of the Desert.

Beyond all this, last night was a journey back to grace and femininity as the actress wore a floral print Giambattista Valli dress and shoes that matched to bring out her classic, statuesque beauty. Fred Leighton complemented her look by showcasing a just as compelling ladylike look which we’re expecting her to keep portraying in subsequent red carpets to come.
