This article was inspired by the true life story of a young girl who fell in love with a guy that hurt her deeply.

From the first day she set her eyes on him, she fell for him. What started as a casual friendship bloomed into a full-force romance between the “supposed” love birds. As time went by, she grew to understand what love was really about and took her stance from 1 Cor 13:1-13. In every sincerity and depth, she was committed to making her blossoming relationship work with this guy.

From office to the house and down to church; everyone could see but not understand just how much she loved him. Everything went on perfectly well until the day she gave him a surprise visit at his house and found him kissing another lady. It had to be a mistake she thought as he ran after her and begged for her forgiveness as well as another chance.

Bittered, she gave him both her love and her forgiveness. It felt like a beautiful beginning but little did she know that she was yet to uncover the ideal truth. Like another Korean Drama; some months later she woke up to the wedding invitation of her “trusted” boyfriend who was getting married to the same girl he claimed was his colleague.

She was hurt, angered, devastated and pained.

Like thin air, he disappeared and got married a few weeks later to his “assumed” colleague. The marriage ended in a bitter divorce after six (6) months due to reasons best not disclosed to the public.

Like a “prodigal idiot”, he returned back to the one person who never stopped loving him and requested for “just another chance”. He came back to the person he had hurt.

Regardless of the pain, shame and hurt he had caused her, her love for him remained unshakeable. She looked upon him with pity as tears dropped gently.

These were her last words to him “You can have my forgiveness but not my love”.

My word to you is this- you should know when to let go and when to hang on. When to say goodbye and when to open new doors. Sometimes we go through certain experiences so that we can learn, live and love again.
