Lipstick Shades
When it comes to beauty, Spring is my favorite season to revamp my look. I love the rainbow of colors down the lipstick aisles and most recently, went a little crazy picking out new hues to try. From pinks and corals, to the always classic red and plum, there are Spring options to fit any skin tone and completely change your complexion.
Pink: Go girly. Look for bright electric rose tones or soft ballerina-shoe pink. Maybelline’s ColorSensational line has a full collection of different pinks to play around with and look gorgeous with pale, English rose skin and a white cotton top or dress.
Plum: Plum hues look great on tan or darker complexions and are an unexpected alternative to classic red. I love Mary Kay’s True Dimensions Lipstick because it leaves a slick glossy finish. Keep the rest of your makeup neutral: think glowy skin and soft browns on the eye.
Red: Red is my personal favorite and a way to completely glamorize your look, even if you’re wearing denim cut-offs, a tee and a ballerina bun, (in fact, that’s when i love this look best!). No matter the season, you should have a great red in your arsenal. I love NARS Satin Lip Pencil because of it’s smooth finish and orangey color – which is very youthful. Keep skin dewy (not matte) and mascara to a minimum for a modern, editorial vibe.
Coral: Coral lipstick hit the beauty scene hard a couple of seasons ago and is showing no signs of stopping. It’s the perfect, fresh color to boost a casual Spring look and take on your Summer vacation. Burberry Kisses Lipstick offers three shades of this shade, and No.7 Lip Crayon line offers a punchy coral I adore.
