A must read for everyone considering a career – Vera Wang
Vera Wang is one designer that we totally love and at Mustered Lady, we consider her a fashion icon. In the making of brides, she is definitely talented at giving brides the best gown for their very special day. Ranging from apparel to accessories and more, Vera is definitely one of our favorite.
Just recently, the amazing designer shared a series of videos where she discussed her start in fashion (which was ignited by selling a lot of Yves Saint Laurent to high-ranking staff at Vogue), her personal collection of clothings and how she became vested in “encouraging women, not intimidating them”. Vera also spoke about the fact that her dream dates are Warren Buffet and Marie Antoinette, interesting you might say.
If you’re thinking of becoming a fashion designer or achieving something great with your life, Vera’s words of encouragement to you are these- “Do something you really love; it doesn’t matter what it is: being a mom, teaching, whatever you love. If you love it, it’ll get you through the hard times and if you don’t; it’s not original or real anyway.
In the words of Vera Wang- “When you love something, every day goes by in ten minutes”.
Very powerful advice and I’m definitely embracing it.
