The city of Coventry will be making history when organizers of the upcoming motoring festival, opens the first ever night club to be situated in the tunnel of highway. This first of its kind disco, will be large enough to host up to 5000 people or more, that are expected to attend the motor festival .
The festival, Coventry MotoFest 2015, will run over the weekend of 29th, 30th and 31st May 2015. And the tunnel, The Greyfriars Green road tunnel, is the UK’s longest under-land road tunnel located at Hindhead in Surrey, UK.
Jeremy Heaver, Motofest’s commercial director, said: “We always like to bring something different to the party with Motofest, so we thought: why not turn the road tunnel into a nightclub?
“When we first took the idea to Coventry City Council, I think it probably took them aback as it is a slightly left-field thing to do.
“However, they could see the potential and they really got behind us in delivering this world-first event.
“It promises to be an amazing spectacle and a great night of entertainment, featuring some of the UK’s top DJs playing in the tunnel on Coventry’s ring road.” [DailyMail]
