Given the increasing competition in the fashion industry, it becomes a must that when you set out to join this race; you must love what you’re doing and do it well.
This is the kind of mindset adopted by Coperni Femme duo Arnaud Valliant and Sebastien Meyer who commenced work in 2013 with a ready-to-wear line that show-cases intellect combined with hard-work. Their aim is to create designs that focus anew on the circular motif.

Of the two, Meyer is the fabric whiz who recently gave a vivid description of the circular discs that were patch-worked together in other to bring forth great styles for their fall collection which consists of peplum blouses, flared minis etc. He also spoke about a silvery kangaroo leather of very papery quality that belies an innate sense of texture and will be used in fabric production. This material will be used alongside Japanese denim, crisp poplin and coperni femme formula to create a much more pragmatic concept than one could ever think of—the sleek, straightforward nature of their crisp silhouette functions like a blank canvas for these tricky surface treatments sans problème.
Elsewhere the designers reprised their knotted sleeve motif from spring, with slinky extra-long knit sleeves slit down the wrist, or a particularly pretty shirting option with detachable, scalloped cuffs. Never was a ruffle so sharp. [Source and photo-credit: VOGUE]
