BLACK FRIDAY 2014 – Will It Be Unparalleled In Nature?

Folks, as some of you may already know, today Friday is  BLACK FRIDAY.  Those of us who know and or celebrate Thanksgiving, do know what this day is about. Now, why is today called, BLACK FRIDAY? Legend has it that it is the day on which the Financial Ledgers of businesses turn from RED to BLACK, and that means, BIG sales for businesses from across the world. The notion of BLACK FRIDAY, started in North America, however, it is nowadays observed in almost all major cities in the world. BLACK FRIDAY also marks the beginning of the Christmas Season.

Lets note that Black Fridays are not the best of days for everyone though. For instance, for the police, the public transport sector employees, and those in the health and emergency services, BLACK FRIDAY means more work. All is because of the pressure that this mega shopping day put on the aforementioned sectors. We sympathize with those so negatively affected, but it is just one day – so very soon, you guys will be Okay again.

To cut a long story short, BLACK FRIDAY also brings with it, a lot of fun for the majority of people, worldwide. This is the one day in the year, where most shoppers go shopping and shoppers and retailers both do take advantage of mega discounts available on almost everything sell-able.

In terms of expected overall sales worldwide, this year’s BLACK FRIDAY could be anything but unparalleled as compared to previous ones. According to David Gray, principal at the Vancouver-based agency, “I don’t think 2014 is going to be a big advance over last year. Sales moved so fast from almost zero in Canada in 2010, I think we are already starting to see a bit of a peak. The industry and media pundits have created a focal point around this, and it has created heightened expectations among shoppers.” Well, that is not even what we are after. It doesn’t matter the actual sales that 2014 BLACK FRIDAY will bring to businesses, the fun fact of the event won’t be affected. And that is the gig.

Just take a look at some of the companies that took part in this year’s BLACK FRIDAY sales (click on the image below):
