WHEN LONG DISTANCE SETS IN
Long distance in a relationship can be frustrating and difficult to deal with. In fact, most relationships don’t survive the trying test of long distance. But then, a few actually do survive and that’s why I’m going to be sharing with you-tips that can make for a successful long distance relationship.
When long distance sets in by reason of circumstances that are seemingly beyond your control, do you fret?
Do you lose faith in a love that you used to strongly believe in?
Do you fight for your relationship with every muscle left?
Long distance can be a blessing or a curse to your relationship depending on your approach and your willingness to make things work. For your relationship to work when long distance sets in, you should do the following:
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Beyond keeping in touch and calling each other from time to time, you must ensure that you effectively communicate. You convey your feelings, emotions and worries per time without hiding anything from your partner. Never let a day pass without an exchange of information between the two of you.
LET YOUR LOVE SPEAK: No matter the distance between the two of you, you must ensure that your love for each other speaks. Do things that will show your beloved that even if he/she is far away; your heart is still with them. Let your love speak by being there for him/her in any way possible, supporting him/her from where you are; encouraging them always; defending your love for him/her when temptations arise; sticking to love him/her through thick and thin. Even if distance attempts to act as a barrier in your relationship, you must let your love speak words and actions that will keep your relationship intact.
GUARD YOUR RELATIONSHIP IN PRAYERS: Long distance is not easy and that’s the plain truth. The heart yearns to be with its beloved as often as possible and long distance prevents this but one tool that can come in handy when long distance sets in is “prayer”. You must be willing to invest good time in praying for yourself, your beloved and the relationship. In addition to this, you must pray together via any means possible because a couple that prays together stays together. Regardless of how far you are from each other, prayer keeps you together as one.
